The Bee Boyzz Story
Read about how we came to "bee"
The Paseschnikoff family story began simply with the love of bees.
Konstantin Sr. first fell in love with bees many years ago in Venezuela where he tended to approximately 50 hives. When the family immigrated to Canada in 1960, the bee romance continued as a hobby and was passed down to Kon Jr. when he was a young boy. This was when he learned the fascination of tending to the hives. As life became a busy whirlwind for the Paseschnikoffs, beekeeping faded away as a hobby but never far from their hearts.
Just before Dad passed away he suggested to Kon Jr. that they get back into beekeeping. Kon hesitated with the idea at first but eventually gave in. Unfortunately, Dad passed away and the day after his funeral Kon got the call that the bees were in and ready to be picked up.
It was going to be a big commitment, and Kon wasn't sure if he could do it. With encouragement from Julie and the kids, here started our Bee Boyzz journey. Kon found that the bees brought him closer to Dad, and they still do to this day. You will find Kon speaking Russian to his bees in his bee yards every spring/summer as he tends them. They helped him through his grief and since then he has never looked back.
The peace and calm they bring you as you tend to them, it's nature's therapy really.
The small family apiary is located in Oak Bluff, Manitoba. The Paseschnikoffs run their hives with the help of their 3 children Katarina, Daniel and Gregori.
The love for caring and tending to the bees continues into the next generation. Who would have thought that Dad’s bee passion is what lead to and created the Paseschnikoff family business today.
The company name came from the boys tending the bees, the name just came to them one day around the kitchen table and stuck. Bee Boyzz. They thought it was catchy and trendy and represented them well.
They realized if they wanted to stay afloat in the honey world they would have to diversify and be creative with their honey because wholesale honey prices are very low and they wouldn’t be able to stay in business or grow if they didn’t shake things up. The Paseschnikoffs wanted to produce a unique and quality product, standing out as a honey company was their goal.
So, over the past couple of years, they worked to create their brand with flavoured honey varieties as well as all-natural creamed and liquid honey, and don't forget the meads and teas. The kids helped with all business aspects, from tending the honey bee hives, honey extraction, mixing honey, labelling and even delivery.
Who knows maybe one day they will make this their life’s work and diversify again.
So, the Paseschnikoff family story is simple.
It’s the love of bees and family, working together and creating a quality product, from our family to yours.
